Matleena Engblom
I founded Law Office Blackbird Ltd in September 2017. I have over twenty years’ experience in a variety of positions as a lawyer, especially in labour and employment law, and civil servant law (state, municipalities and Evangelical-Lutheran Church). I have worked in attorney-at-law firms for ten years, and for about four years in Courts of Law.
In addition to my work I´m taking care of several positions of trust and expertise in Finnish Bar Association, Finnish Lawyers´ Association and other organizations. I also have worked as manager and foreman, and now work as Managing Partner of our firm. In addition to law exam, I hold a Specialist Qualification in Management, and have completed the qualification of Occupational Health and Safety Professional in the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health.
I also have accomplished the Arbitration training provided by the Finnish Chamber of Commerce, and a qualification of Mediator in Finnish Bar Association.
I do some training, for example in the University of Turku.
In my spare time I love to listen to music and sing with friends and family, do some exercise and read, mostly novels. I also love movies and TV series. I have a small, old summer house where I do some gardening. I also have responsibilities in support team of scout girls and boys.

I am a Master’s degree student in the Faculty of Law at the University of Turku. I want to gain experience in various fields of law, both in my studies and in my working life. I wrote my Bachelor’s thesis about labour law, which is often the focus of my work as well.
I like to spend my free time with horses and CrossFit.
